SUMMARY:
The role of the shipping & receiving Specialist is responsible for daily handling of incoming and outgoing shipments. This role ensures the accurate receipt, inspection, documentation, and distribution of incoming materials, as well as the proper packaging, labeling, and shipping of finished goods to customers and/or vendors.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):
Generates necessary shipping paperwork in ERP system, including (but not limited to):
Packing List
Product labels.
Shipping labels
Correctly determine shipping method and generate applicable shipping documents via UPS/FedEx/DHL for domestic and international orders using on-line software.
Carefully prepare and pack products for shipments to customers and suppliers in a manner that will not damage goods during transit.
Verify all applicable documentation has been provided by suppliers per purchase order requirements associated with received goods:
Packing slips
Certificates of conformance
Applicable test data
Receive incoming goods in ERP system, and properly distribute within the organization based upon purchase order requirements.
Perform accurate count and visual inspection (check for damage) of condition of goods received from suppliers.
Identify and elevate any discrepancies with received goods against requirements until all discrepancies are addressed.
Properly document all incoming and outgoing shipments to suppliers and customers on the Shipping & Receiving log.
Monitor and order consumable shipping related supplies to avoid shipping delays.
Responsible for supporting continuous improvement activities in assigned department.
Notify Quality upon receipt of Return Material Authorizations (RMA's).
Performs other duties as assigned
