Shipping Assistant Supervisor

Position Summary:

The Shipping Assistant Supervisor will help run the daily work in a shipping warehouse area. This position will guide employees, double check work is done correctly, and ensure shipments leave on time.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• Excellent active listening, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to motivate team to accomplish objectives
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to resolve conflict among team
• Basic understanding of records, inventories, and other routine documentation used
• Forklift certification required

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Previous warehouse or shipping experience is highly preferred

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Passes daily instructions from supervisor to department employees
• Checks that outgoing orders have correct shipping/product labels
• Solves problems with delayed orders
• Enforces standard operating procedures and company safety policies
• Escalates team issues or conflicts to Management and Human Resources
• Covers for Shipping Supervisor during absences
• Performs other duties as assigned

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

• Work is usually performed in a warehouse and manufacturing environment
• Physical demands of the position are sitting, walking, and lifting
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs at one time
