Shipping Associate-1st Shift

Lapeer area manufacturer of gauges, fixtures, dies and steel and aluminum piping is seeking Shipping Associate to join their team.  1st Shift, 7A-3:30P, Monday-Friday, $15 per hour.  Previous experience in manufacturing required.  Candidates need to submit a complete resume with full work history to be considered.  Must be able to read a tape measure and will be tested on that. Apply Now!  Requirements:

1. Must be able to read and comprehend the English language.
2. Must be able to communicate clearly to supervision and peers.
3. Take instruction from supervisor and from trainer.
4. Have interpersonal skills to be able to work in a team atmosphere; display a positive attitude.
5. Must have good attendance.
6. Must be able to perform basic math: add, subtract, multiply and divide.
7. Must be able to read a tape measure up to 1/16” increments; display mechanical ability and aptitude.

2. Normal operations include being able to properly lift and handle parts up to 25lbs consistently throughout an average workday of nine hours.
3. Job requires bending, stooping and stretching on a regular basis to move or position parts into baskets and/or on racks.
4. Be flexible in job duty: go from one job to another without difficulty performing random and/or scheduled floor checks of production parts, loading/unloading from shipping/receiving docks. Deliver needed parts/supplies to the production areas.
5. Maintain part identification throughout process.
6. Maintain cleanliness in work area; put tools and/or equipment in proper location.
7. Follow the rules and company regulations as stated upon engagement.
8. Must follow dress code; no jewelry: earrings, necklaces or rings that protrude above finger; no loose or torn clothing, shorts or sleeveless shirts; proper footwear of heavy soled leather work boot, or leather steel-toe boots.
