Shipping Associate
Pay rate $21.00/hour to $22.00/hour. Duration one year. Hours Mon to Fri 5am to 1:30pm. Location Bay Point, CA.
Qualifications:
- Education — High school diploma or GED
- Basic Arithmetic — Adding, subtracting, multiplication and division
- Experience — 1-year warehouse experience and 1-year forklift experience preferred
- Special Skills — Computer knowledge and legible penmanship
- Special Handling — Knowledge of hazardous material and DOT Labeling
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Wearing of appropriate PPE as required. Hard hat, safety glasses and steel toe shoes at a minimum
- Must be able to pass forklift certification within 4 months
- This position requires the ability to perform physical labor throughout the entire shift, which includes bending and standing for long periods of time.
- Warehouse environment, where temperature can be seasonably cool or warm. Freezer environment (Zero Degrees) for short periods of time.
Responsibilities:
- Comply with all SHE related requirements and initiatives
- Maintain a safe work environment in a fast-paced warehouse/shipping environment.
- Maintain a clean work environment complying with all housekeeping standards
- Pulling and packing material
- Proper communication with supervisors or peers – in person, computer, or via telephone
- Able to work with and around hazardous materials, chemicals, and equipment
- Must be able to work independently and follow written instructions
- Create shipping documents and sign-off as needed.
- Loading/unloading trucks of goods while maintaining the integrity of the material
- Interacting with computers- using computer systems and other electronics (including hardware and software) to enter data, or process information. SAP, Barcode scanners, Handheld radios
- Operate sit down and stand up forklifts.
- Operate stretch wrapper and pallet jacks
- Able to work in the presence of environmental conditions such as fumes, dust, heights, chemicals, odors, and noise.
- Must be flexible about working overtime hours as needed
