Shipping Clerk
Employ-Temps Staffing Services is hiring a Shipping Clerk in Akron, OH. Were looking for someone with shipping experience, strong attention to detail, and the initiative to take ownership of their work.
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with an advanced coatings production company. The focus is on shipping duties like labeling, packaging, and using shipping and inventory software. It is not a forklift-only or material handling role, but you may help in other areas as needed and occasionally assist with loading.

Hours
1st Shift
Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
On-site in Akron, OH
Pay
$20.00 per hour (with an increase to $22.00 per hour after hire-in by the customer)
Key Responsibilities
Verify order accuracy and inspect products for damage
Package and label various sized products for shipment, following DOT requirements
Create shipping labels and documentation using a computer
Use shipping software to track shipments and update order statuses (training available)
Assist with loading trucks as needed (duties shared among several employees)
Occasionally use a forklift to move or load products
Minimum Requirements
Shipping experience (clerical and hands-on physical shipping experience)
Basic computer skills for creating and printing labels
Experience using an RF scanner
Strong attention to detail
Self-motivation, willingness to learn, and solid work ethic
Ability to occasionally lift up to 80 pounds
Nice to Have Skills
Experience with UPS, FedEx, and/or USPS shipping software
Forklift (tow motor) experience
Hazardous materials shipping experience
Preferred Education and Experience
Previous shipping and labeling/packaging experience in a production or warehouse environment
Experience in a role where duties can vary day to day
Other Requirements
Ability to work on-site
Ability to occasionally lift up to 80 pounds
