Job Duties

• Verify shipment accuracy by comparing quantities, weights, and product information against invoices, bills of lading, and customer orders.
• Package products and prepare cartons, crates, and containers for shipment.
• Apply shipping labels, markings, and special handling instructions to outbound freight.
• Assemble shipping containers and secure products for safe transportation.
• Inspect completed shipments to ensure quality and customer specifications are met.
• Operate forklifts, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment to move inventory and outbound orders.
• Support warehouse operations, cross-training initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts as needed.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills, including the ability to calculate measurements, ratios, and quantities.
• Ability to read shipping documents, work instructions, labels, and customer orders.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Experience Requirements

• Previous experience in shipping, packaging, warehouse, distribution center, manufacturing, or logistics environments preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred; ability to safely operate material handling equipment.
• Experience verifying orders, preparing shipments, and maintaining accurate shipping records.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, teamwork, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently while adapting to changing production and shipping priorities.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand and move throughout the workday in a warehouse environment.
• Frequent walking, reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and handling materials.
• Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working in a loud industrial or warehouse setting.
• Commitment to following safety procedures and using equipment responsibly.

What You Will Do

As a Shipping Clerk you will receive incoming shipments, inspect materials, prepare outbound orders, verify inventory, organize warehouse stock, complete shipping and receiving documentation, and help maintain accurate inventory records. You will safely move products throughout the warehouse while supporting efficient shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment operations.

A Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating the movement of products into and out of a warehouse while maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting efficient distribution operations. This role requires attention to detail, organization, and a commitment to workplace safety.
