Shipping Clerk
Location: Port of Catoosa
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Overtime may be required
HireCall is currently seeking a Shipping Clerk for a manufacturing facility in the Port of Catoosa area. This position is responsible for preparing products for shipment, loading and unloading materials, coordinating shipping documentation, and ensuring all outgoing orders are accurate and secure.
The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, organized, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare units for shipment, including wrapping, securing piping, and other shipping preparations.
- Load and unload products using overhead cranes and forklifts.
- Coordinate with the Shipping Coordinator regarding items that must be palletized, banded, wrapped, or otherwise prepared for shipment.
- Verify shipping documentation and ensure all required parts and materials are included with outgoing shipments.
- Operate forklifts on a daily basis.
- Communicate potential material or supply issues to supervisors to minimize production delays.
- Maintain a safe and organized work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of forklift and/or material handling experience required.
- Previous shipping and receiving experience preferred.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent attendance and reliability.
- Willingness to complete company-provided safety training, including forklift and overhead crane operation.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, climb, and perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to work in both hot and cold environments.
- Ability to walk on uneven surfaces and access all areas of the facility.
- Ability to wear required PPE.
- Must have sufficient vision and depth perception to safely perform job duties.
- Some tasks may require working in tight spaces.
