We are looking for an on-site Shipping Clerk to support our team at our corporate location in Blue Ash, Ohio.

Summary:

This role will require an employee that displays strong attention-to-detail to perform desk work and be hands on to complete transfer and staging of inventory and customer orders for warehouse, shipping, and receiving areas. This employee will be responsible for receiving material within the system making sure all required documentation is present and the counts are accurate while ensuring that customer orders are shipped on time and error free. Communicates any issues with missed shipments internally to ensure that customers are alerted.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Completes all paperwork pertaining to shipments and receipts.
  • Uses an RF scan gun to complete inventory transactions as needed to receive goods and process shipments.
  • Properly stores or prepares shipments to and from the Company according to established procedures.
  • Inspects and verifies for quality and quantity of received goods using prescribed criteria.
  • Prepares materials for outbound shipments.
  • Checks to assure all labels on containers match material described on packing slip.
  • Load/Unloads trucks after ensuring trailer wheels are chocked and safe before loading.
  • Ensures carriers Bill of Lading corresponds to freight delivered and notate any damage which may have occurred during transit on the BOL/Delivery Receipt.
  • Assists in loading, unloading, and locating inventory by operating forklifts, electric walker trucks, and hand trucks.
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High School Diploma, GED required; logistics training/education a plus.
  • Possesses a stable work history and a strong personal desire to work safely and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Experience working in a warehouse environment safely operating facility material handling equipment (e.g. forklift, pallet jacks, RF scanner, scales, UPS, Fed Ex shipping systems, LSI - JDE Inventory System
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in fast paced work environment.
  • Strong math skills and attention to detail.
  • Hands-on experience working within a shipping and Receiving department is a plus.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office (Excel/Word).
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including overtime and weekend if needed.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment to deliver results.

Physical Demands:

  • Standing for up to 8 - 10 hours a day
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to withstand hot temperatures during summer months.
