Job Description
This position will be responsible for planning and managing shipping schedules to meet branch and customer delivery requirements as well as coordinating warehouse operations (pick, pack, operate equipment, etc.) when required.
Overtime: Employees must be willing and available to work weekends on an on-going basis if needed. Refusal to work mandatory overtime is considered a voluntary quit. Overtime will be paid for all hours worked in excess of forty hours in any one week. Shift times are subject to change. Employees must be willing to work in excess of 8 hours in one shift. Sometimes it is not possible to give employees involved much notice.
Responsibilities: To include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Coordinates the movement of goods from shipper to destination so that deliveries are on time and in compliance with government regulations, company standards and customer expectations. Coordinate with freight forwarders and carriers as needed.
Communication with security to provide direction and door assignments to carriers.
Ensure that all domestic and international shipments comply with customs regulations and company policies. Work with customs brokers and carriers to resolve any issues.
Schedule inbound and outbound freight and trailers to comply with cross dock operations and capacities.
Plans and manages shipping schedules to meet branch and customer delivery requirements.
Liaises with internal stakeholders, drivers, vendors, and contracted carriers in planning the movement of freight
Address and resolve any issues related to both domestic and international shipping, including but not limited to; delays, damages, shortages, and customs holds
Follows CTPAT regulations for receiving international shipments including inspecting trailers, 10% inspection and COO verification.
Prepare and process all necessary forms and documentation for shipments, including invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading
Maintain accurate records of all international shipments, including documentation, tracking information, and correspondence.
Unload and inspect incoming shipments to ensure accuracy, quality and ensure company standards are met
Verify the contents against purchase orders and packing lists. Inspect products for damage or defects and report any issues to the Supervisor.
Investigates and resolves discrepancies and scanning issues using BPCS and Profound
Coordinate internally and externally with buyer/planners, suppliers, vendors, and internal departments to resolve any issues related to incoming shipments
Properly label and store received goods in designated warehouse locations. Maintain an organized and clean receiving area.
Oversee yard operations for safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.
Oversees fork truck fleet, delegating truck to team members, ensure all trucks are in working order.
Provides direction and assists in the training and development of warehouse personnel.
Perform weekly/monthly lane audits. Research and resolve discrepancies related to inventory.
Assist Customer Care Group in handling warehouse related issues such as but not limited to escalations, expedites damaged and shipping discrepancies to ensure excellent customer service
Performs all required functions such as receipt of material, selecting orders for shipment, freight routing, and one-step of shipments.
Cleans up and disposes boxes, packing material, and pallets, as well as general housekeeping of facility and specific product line areas
Interfaces with Management, manufacturing personnel, purchasing department, customer care and branches on material status and production planning issues.
Maintain legible and accurate records and metrics as required; identifying improvement plans to support departmental goals.
Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety and report unsafe conditions that cannot be self-corrected to the Operations Supervisor.
Performs all job tasks assigned by the leadership staff to achieve and maintain daily productivity and quality goals

Understand and abide by all Company safety rules, regulations, and policies. Ensure that safe and sanitary working conditions are maintained in the facility in accordance with Company standards, as well as state & federal laws and regulations. Know and understand your OSHA rights.
Responsible for attending all assigned safety meetings, toolbox talks, safety training sessions and any other required training
Actively participate in SRP, VPDS, and any other Company initiative designed to improve workplace efficiency, eliminate waste, and improve quality.

Qualifications (education, experience, skills, personal attributes):
Associates degree preferred
Previous experience in warehouse and/ or manufacturing environment preferred
Competency in Microsoft Office applications required
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and practices
Good organizational, analytical problem solving, and communication skills required. Ability to interact with a wide variety of people
Must be responsible and self-motivated
Willing to work extra hours as project or production needs dictate
