Position SummaryHarvard Bioscience is looking for a Shipping Clerk with experience in International Shipping a plus. The qualified candidate will Verify and keep accurate records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Will prepare items for shipment by performing the shipping duties. Must have working knowledge of international shipping including export compliance. Commercial invoicing, AES/EEI filing, Fedex/UPS/ DHL shipping processes. This requires on-site attendance in our Holliston, MA office.Essential Job FunctionsCompares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.Determines method of shipment.Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containersInserts items into containers.Posts weights and shipping chargesUnpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortagesRoutes items to departmentsExamines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.Operates tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.Other shipping duties as assignedSkills and QualificationsTeam PlayerMust have attention to detailShipping experienceInternational ShippingKnowledge of Internet software; Inventory software and Microsoft office suite The employee is frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms.
