    Description

    A Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing, processing, and coordinating outgoing shipments to ensure products are delivered accurately and on time. They maintain shipping records, verify inventory, and work closely with warehouse, logistics, and customer service teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare and process shipping documents, including invoices, packing slips, bills of lading, and shipping labels.
    • Verify orders for accuracy before shipment.
    • Package products securely according to company and carrier requirements.
    • Schedule shipments with carriers and coordinate pickups.
    • Track shipments and resolve delivery issues.
    • Maintain accurate shipping and inventory records.
    • Inspect outgoing goods for quality and completeness.
    • Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts (if certified).
    • Communicate with customers, vendors, and transportation providers regarding shipment status.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.

    Required Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Previous shipping, warehouse, or logistics experience preferred.
    • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and shipping software.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to lift and move packages, typically up to 50 lbs (23 kg).

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience with inventory management systems.
    • Knowledge of shipping regulations and carrier requirements.
    • Forklift certification (where applicable).
    • Familiarity with barcode scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS)
