Shipping Clerk Lead

Clow is seeking a Lead Shipping Clerk to join our Shipping team. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for coordinating daily shipping activities, providing direction and support to team members, balancing workloads, resolving issues, and ensuring customer orders are processed accurately and efficiently. The Lead Shipping Clerk works closely with the Shipping Supervisor and other departments to maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment while keeping materials and finished products moving efficiently.

Shifts Available:

• Shift 13: 4:00am – 2:00pm, Monday – Thursday

Starting Rate of Pay:

• $23.50 - $26.50 per hour base rate depending on experience.

What You’ll Do:

·         Lead and support daily activities for Shipping Clerks and Shipping Forklift Operators by providing direction, training, and coaching.

·         Prioritize workloads and adjust assignments as needed to ensure department efficiency and shipments are completed accurately and on schedule.

·         Assist with resolving shipping and receiving issues to minimize delays and maintain customer satisfaction.

·         Support daily operations by performing shipping duties and filling in for team members as needed.

·         Conduct team meetings, communicate expectations, and share important updates with employees.

·         Provide feedback and coaching to support employee development and continuous improvement.

·         Collaborate with other departments and transportation providers to support daily operations.

·         Operate shipping equipment including forklifts, scales, dock locks, and banding equipment.

·         Promote a safe work environment by following and encouraging safe work practices.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or a similar role.  
• Previous leadership experience required.

·         Hands-on experience with warehouse management software.

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage changing workloads.
• Basic math skills for weighing, measuring, and verifying shipments.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office applications and computer systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification through Clow.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift and handle materials up to 65lbs
• Frequent bending, reaching, material handling, and part movement
