Job Description
Shipping Clerk
11am-7pm
St Petersburg, Florida
$17.00 p/h
Summary: Prepares product for shipment. Verifies and records shipment data.
Qualifications: Ability to read pack id's and job travelers and determine what is being shipped or going to stock.
General math and computer skills.
Able to count and measure.
Ability to take direction and follow instructions.
Understand packaging requirements for product protection against shipping damage.
Comprehend parcel and LTL shipments. Powered hand truck training, as required.
Valid driver's license is a must.
Overtime with some Saturday work required
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Function as a participating team member
Package and ship product to requirements by following the processes
Examine packaged product to ensure shipments meet specifications per the processes in shipping.
Recognize available UPS and Fed Ex, carrier deadlines, and carrier shipping methods processing the shipments in a timely fashion to make the cut off time
Maintain a safe and orderly workplace
Other duties as assigned
Typing at least 25 word per minute
Physical Demands:
Lift and carry 40 pounds (with assistance, if necessary)
Standing, with intermittent bending and walking
All candidates must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
