Now Hiring: Direct Hire Shipping Clerk

Schedule: Monday-Friday; 2:30pm-11pm

Job Summary

Join our team in Kent, Washington—a vibrant city known for its diverse community and thriving industrial sector. This role involves picking up, transporting, and delivering materials on an interfacility truck, along with various administrative, storekeeping, distribution, and warehouse functions in a multi-facility shipping environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inventory duties including receiving, stocking, issuing parts and assemblies, storekeeping, inventory control, cycle counting, document control, and scanning.
  • Conduct shipping duties such as packaging and labeling per best practices and checklist instructions.
  • Independently manage inventory control and shipping activities to support production, inventory objectives, and customer shipments.
  • Print various inventory and shipping reports, inventory tags, and unit container labels.
  • Follow and update work orders and shipping documents; schedule and track shipments through the internal process.
  • Match shipping documents and stage physical shipments for carrier pickup.
  • Train and assist with creating shipping pack slips, documents, labels, and freight bills.
  • Train and assist with access and updates of customer and freight carrier portals.
  • Identify variances and participate in problem research and resolution.
  • Utilize internal computer applications for inquiry, report generation, department documentation, data entry, scanning, and problem-solving.
  • Train co-workers on basic shipping tasks and ensure accuracy of work.
  • Contribute to the development of 5S practices, environmental objectives, and safety awareness.
  • Operate forklifts and other automated and manually operated equipment.
  • Work with limited oversight.
  • Relevant computer experience including Microsoft Office.
  • Basic understanding of router operations and sketches; knows when to seek clarification.
  • Maintain legible handwriting, organizational ability, attention to detail, and accuracy in handling parts and maintaining records.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and good judgment in decision-making and handling exceptions.

Qualifications

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Experience operating a box truck.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move parts physically from work center to work center and through inventory control and shipping processes.
  • Assemble and re-configure racks, furniture, and equipment in the shipping cell and storage locations.
  • Perform physical activities requiring considerable use of arms and legs, frequent movement of the whole body, such as climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, balancing, and handling of material.
