Shipping Consolidator

 
GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The primary responsibility of this position is to pick and consolidate orders. This includes
counting, moving, locating, and safely relocating inventory, as well as performing pick line
functions.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS / DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

• Complete all required paperwork.
• Perform cycle counts and inventory functions.
• Consolidate, palletize, and execute pick-line functions.
• Remain vigilant for any foreign objects and check for damage to boxes or their contents.
• Work safely around equipment and machinery.
• Perform any other duties assigned by your supervisor. Daily inspections to ensure that equipment and the environment are safe for operation.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:  

• EXPERIENCE:Forklift experience is preferred but not required. Previous warehouse experience is required.
• SKILLS: Strong oral communication skills and knowledge of warehouse procedures
• ADDITIONAL: Ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced, team-oriented food processing environment. Must work independently with limited supervision, maintain regular attendance, follow directions, interact well with coworkers, and understand and adhere to posted work rules and procedures.
   

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 
Work is performed in a cool environment with an average temperature of 34 degrees
Fahrenheit. Concentrated chlorine and concealed ammonia are present. Work surfaces and floors
maybe wet. Employees are required to wear approved shoes and protective equipment. Must be able to lift to 40 lbs unassisted for up to three-quarters of the workday and lift 6 lbs overhead as job demands dictate. Continuous standing on a concrete floor, along with reaching, bending, stooping, and repetitive hand movements, may be required. Moving machinery, including conveyors and forklifts, operates in the immediate area.Please be aware that our workplace environment may contain or encounter common allergens, such as Milk, Peanuts, Egg, Fish, Shellfish, Tree Nuts, Wheat, Soybeans, Sesame, Mustard and Sulfites.  

WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 
Ability to work overtime as needed; some weekends may be required.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
High School Diploma, GED, or proven ability to perform assigned tasks.
