Spherion Mid Ohio is recruiting an experienced Shipping Coordinator for a direct-hire opportunity with a manufacturing company in Bellevue.
This position is responsible for taking customer orders from inventory through final shipment. You'll pull and package products, build and prepare pallets, operate a forklift and pallet jack, create shipping documentation, work within customer shipping portals, and make sure completed orders are accurate and ready for carrier pickup.
This role works with a high degree of independence, making it a great opportunity for someone with previous shipping, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing experience who is organized, comfortable using a computer, and takes pride in getting every shipment right.
What You'll Do
- Pull finished products from inventory to complete customer orders
- Verify products, quantities, and order information for accuracy
- Select appropriate cartons and packaging for each shipment
- Pack and prepare completed customer orders for shipment
- Determine the correct pallet type based on individual customer requirements
- Build, organize, and secure completed orders on pallets
- Shrink-wrap pallets and apply required shipping labels
- Regularly operate a forklift and pallet jack to move products and completed shipments
- Stage and organize finished orders for semi-truck pickup
- Access customer websites and shipping portals to enter shipment details
- Generate and print shipping labels and Bills of Lading
- Prepare labels and documentation for daily UPS shipments
- Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation
- Keep orders organized and ready for scheduled carrier pickups
- Identify and communicate order or shipping discrepancies
- Coordinate with the Customer Service Coordinator to keep shipments moving accurately and on schedule
What We're Looking For
- Previous shipping, warehouse, logistics, order fulfillment, or manufacturing experience preferred
- Forklift and/or pallet jack experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable regularly operating material-handling equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to order accuracy
- Basic computer proficiency and confidence navigating websites and online systems
- Ability to accurately enter shipment and order information
- Familiarity with shipping labels, Bills of Lading, or shipping documentation is a plus
- Strong organization and time-management skills
- Ability to manage daily responsibilities with limited supervision
- Comfortable balancing hands-on warehouse responsibilities with computer-based shipping tasks
- Ability to follow different customer packaging, pallet, and shipping requirements
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Dependable attendance and consistent work habits
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
- Previous manufacturing or factory experience is a plus
