Job Title: Shipping Coordinator
Job Description
The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for efficiently loading and unloading trucks using various equipment such as fork trucks, forklifts, manual lifts, dollies, and skids. The role involves verifying shipment information against bills of lading, making wood crates for screw/shafting shipments, processing requisitions, jobs, and transactions in the computer system, and communicating essential information to the supervisor. Adherence to health and safety regulations, including 5S responsibilities, is crucial. The position requires preparing work orders, processing shipments, confirming work orders in the ERP system to maintain accurate inventory, and keeping the shipping area organized.
Responsibilities
Load and unload trucks using equipment like fork trucks and forklifts.
Verify information such as counts, weights, or measurements against bills of lading.
Create wood crates for shipments, requiring familiarity with cutting saws and nail guns.
Process requisitions and transactions in the computer system.
Communicate necessary information to the supervisor.
Adhere to health and safety regulations, including 5S responsibilities.
Prepare and confirm work orders in the ERP system.
Maintain and organize the shipping area.
Schedule large shipments and plan logistics for customer demand.
Close out work orders as required.
Contact customers for shipment-related information.
Coordinate with third-party logistics companies for shipments.
Use shipping carrier software to generate shipment documentation.
Create packing lists, shipping labels, bar code labels, and bills of lading.
Essential Skills
1-2 years of experience as an inventory control specialist or similar position.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
Mathematical skills for calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Intermediate computer skills.
Experience with Oracle or similar ERP programs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with inventory management and warehouse inventory.
Customer service skills.
Familiarity with SAP and data entry.
Experience in shipping and receiving.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
