    The Shipping Coordinator Lead is responsible for managing all shipping and fulfillment operations for a designated customer within the plant. This role ensures that all customer orders are packaged, documented, and shipped accurately and on time according to customer specific requirements. The Shipping Lead provides day-to-day leadership to the shipping team, coordinates closely with production, and serves as a key contact for customer shipment communication. Success in this position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    Location/Schedule: Macon, GA / 1st shift 

    Requirements

    What You’ll Do: 

    • Oversee daily shipping operations for assigned customer account(s).
    • Ensure all products are pulled from production and staged appropriately to meet shipping schedules.
    • Follow and enforce customer-specific packaging instructions and labeling requirements.
    • Prepare and verify all shipping documentation, including packing slips, bills of lading, and customer-required paperwork.
    • Maintain accurate shipment records and ensure documentation is completed correctly before dispatch.
    • Serve as a point of contact for customer shipping-related questions, updates, and concerns.
    • Communicate shipment status, delivery schedules, and any potential delays in a professional manner.
    • Lead, support, and coordinate the daily activities of shipping associates.
    • Work closely with production and warehouse teams to ensure product availability aligns with customer shipping needs.
    • Identify and escalate issues that may impact shipment timelines or customer satisfaction.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to shipping efficiency and accuracy.
    • Ensure compliance with plant safety policies, shipping regulations, and company procedures.

    Who You Are: 

    • High school diploma or GED required; additional education or certifications are a plus.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a lead or supervisory role within shipping, logistics, warehouse, or manufacturing operations.
    • Proven ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
    • Strong communication skills with both internal teams and external customers.
    • Basic computer skills and experience with shipping systems or ERP software preferred.
    • Experience working with customer compliance programs and specialized packaging standards.
    • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
