our Job

Georgia-Pacific is now hiring a Shipping Coordinator in Madison, GA. The Shipping Coordinator is responsible ensuring product is loaded and shipped on time. This person will direct shift team members on what product to load and coordinate with transportation providers.

This position requires that you work 1st Shift. The Shift schedule is Monday-Friday, occasional Saturday. The hours for the shift are 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM This is NOT a remote position and will require you to be onsite at Madison plywood facility.

The minimum starting pay is $21.00 per hour.

What You Will Do

  • Provide customer service to the truck drivers, providing them with the appropriate paperwork and instructing them on where to park their trailers
  • Direct team members on loading priorities
  • Work with customer service, sales and leadership on customer priorities
  • Provide email communication to team members and customers
  • Produce BOL's (bill of landing)
  • Monitor production line ups for orders ready to ship
  • Manage raw material paperwork and assist with month end inventory counts and reporting
  • Demonstrate leadership skills, must be a self-starter and require little or no supervision and have the ability and willingness to train others
  • Assist team members throughout the mill as needed
  • Work the first day and last day of each month for inventory (including weekends and holidays)

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Minimum of 2 years in a shipping coordinator role
  • Experience using Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Experience manually entering high volume numerical datasets into computer systems at a fast pace

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Minimum of 2 years in a shipping coordinator role in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in warehousing, transportation, or inventory control
  • Experience with ERP operating system
  • Experience in Accounting
  • Associate's degree preferred
