Position Summary
Barron Industries is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Shipping Coordinator to support our customer shipping operations. This position is responsible for packaging and shipping finished products to customers, maintaining shipping supplies, preparing shipping documentation, and ensuring all required certifications and quality documents accompany customer shipments.
This is a hands-on position that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, basic computer proficiency, and effective communication with customers, carriers, and internal departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate outbound customer deliveries, including scheduling carrier pickups and shipments.
- Package finished products in accordance with customer requirements, work instructions, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Verify correct packaging materials, containers, and labeling requirements for each shipment.
- Perform part marking using the method specified on the process sheet.
- Prepare shipping documentation, including packing lists, bills of lading (BOLs), Plex tags, certifications, and customs documentation when required.
- Verify that all required quality documentation and certifications are complete and included with shipments according to customer and process requirements.
- Maintain shipping supply inventory and coordinate replenishment with the Purchasing Department as needed.
- Communicate effectively with customers, freight carriers, and internal departments regarding shipment status and delivery requirements.
- Collaborate with Scheduling, Customer Service, Quality, Purchasing, and Production personnel to ensure on-time customer deliveries.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous shipping, logistics, warehouse, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, process sheets, and shipping procedures.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to operate forklift
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move materials and packages in accordance with company safety guidelines.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
Schedule and Compensation
- Full-Time
- Day Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
