Primary Purpose: The Shipping Forklift Operator is responsible for unloading incoming materials, loading and moving shipments, verifying shipping and receiving paperwork, and maintaining accurate inventory records. This position helps ensure materials are handled safely and distributed efficiently throughout the facility.
Job Responsibilities:
Operate a forklift to load, unload, and move materials and shipments safely.
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against the appropriate paperwork.
Transport materials to designated storage and production areas.
Prepare, organize, and distribute materials for shipping and receiving.
Record shipment details and enter inventory information into the database.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with monthly inventory counts and cycle counts.
Verify shipments for completeness and damage and report any discrepancies.
Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation.
Communicate with shipping carriers, vendors, and internal departments as needed.
Handle incoming and outgoing mail and small packages as required.
Follow all forklift safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Previous forklift operating experience required.
Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory procedures.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and data entry.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
Basic math skills and strong attention to detail.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Commitment to workplace safety and proper material handling.
