Position Overview
As a
Shipping & Receiving Clerk, you will play a vital role in managing the movement of materials and products throughout the facility. You will be responsible for receiving incoming shipments, preparing outbound orders, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring materials are processed efficiently and accurately.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and able to work independently while maintaining a strong commitment to quality and customer service.
Key ResponsibilitiesShipping Operations- Prepare outgoing shipments for delivery to customers and vendors
- Verify shipping documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Package products securely to prevent damage during transportation
- Generate shipping labels and related documentation
- Coordinate with carriers to ensure timely shipment of materials
- Ensure all outgoing orders are processed accurately and on schedule
Receiving Operations- Receive incoming deliveries from suppliers and carriers
- Inspect shipments for accuracy, shortages, damage, or discrepancies
- Verify packing slips, purchase orders, and shipping documentation
- Report damaged or missing materials promptly
- Accurately log all incoming inventory into warehouse management systems
Inventory Control- Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management software
- Utilize barcode scanners to track inventory movement
- Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and physical inventories
- Monitor stock levels and report inventory discrepancies
- Ensure materials are properly labeled, stored, and organized
Warehouse Support- Move materials throughout the warehouse as needed
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment
- Follow company safety procedures and warehouse best practices
- Assist other warehouse personnel with daily operational tasks
- Support continuous improvement efforts to increase efficiency and accuracy
Documentation & Accuracy- Maintain detailed shipping and receiving records
- Ensure all transactions are entered accurately and in a timely manner
- Communicate effectively with purchasing, production, customer service, and warehouse teams
- Maintain organized files and shipping documentation for audit purposes
QualificationsRequired- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, inventory control, or logistics preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn warehouse management software
- Experience using barcode scanners or inventory tracking systems is a plus
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
Preferred- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Experience handling shipping documentation and inventory records
- Manufacturing or distribution experience
