Shipping & Receiving / Warehouse Associate

Location: Akron, OH

Shift: 1st Shift (Day Shift)

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour (Based on Experience)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving / Warehouse Associate for a growing industrial manufacturing facility in Akron, Ohio. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials, preparation of outbound shipments, receiving incoming products, inventory control, and loading/unloading large industrial components used within the drilling industry.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of warehouse and shipping/receiving experience, strong forklift skills, and experience handling oversized or heavy industrial products.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
• Pick, stage, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
• Build and crate products for domestic and international shipments.
• Operate sit-down forklifts to move materials throughout the facility.
• Load and unload trucks containing large industrial equipment and components.
• Prepare shipping documentation, packing lists, and bills of lading.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
• Ensure materials are properly labeled, stored, and organized.
• Coordinate with production and logistics teams to meet shipping schedules.
• Follow all warehouse safety procedures and company policies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience in an industrial environment.
• Experience building crates and packaging industrial products for shipment.
• Proficient operating a sit-down forklift.
• Experience loading and unloading oversized or heavy products.
• Ability to read shipping documents, packing slips, and work orders.
• Basic computer skills for inventory and shipping systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Ability to stand, bend, walk, and move throughout the shift.
• Comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Ability to safely handle large, heavy, and irregularly shaped materials.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing, metal fabrication, machining, or industrial drilling industries.
• Forklift certification (or ability to become certified).
• Experience using ERP, warehouse management, or inventory systems.
