Position DescriptionTitle: Shipping/Receiving CoordinatorDepartment: Shipping & ReceivingReports to: Shipping & Receiving ManagerStatus: Hourly Non-ExemptPosition Purpose: The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator is responsible for managing the flow of goods in and out of the facility. This includes overseeing incoming shipments, preparing outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring compliance with shipping regulations. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal departments and external partners.
Principle Accountabilities
Coordinate and manage all incoming and outgoing shipments.Inspect deliveries for damage, verify contents against packing lists, and resolve discrepancies.Prepare shipping documentation including labels, bills of lading, and invoices.Communicate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pickups and deliveries.Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts and reconciliations.Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and RF scanners.Organize warehouse space to optimize storage and minimize product damage.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations regarding shipping and receiving.Provide excellent customer service to internal departments and external vendors.Assist with physical inventory counts and reportingRelated tasks as requested by supervisor/manager
Essential Skills and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent required.2+ years of manufacturing strongly preferred.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite required.Excellent written and oral communication skills required.Exceptional organizational and time management skills required.Knowledge of hazardous materials handling and shipping regulations (DOT, IATA) is beneficial.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate warehouse machinery safely.
