Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Pay: $19–$20/hour
Location: Near Ballston Spa, NY
Schedule: Full-time, 10-hour shifts, four-day work week, day shift

About the Job

As a Shipping & Receiving Clerk, you'll be part of a team crafting transformers and power supplies for industrial products. In this role, you'll handle the logistics, administrative, and physical tasks tied to inbound and outbound shipments, playing a key part in ensuring goods are received, stored, and shipped accurately and on time. Your attention to detail, organization, and efficiency will help keep materials flowing smoothly through the facility, supporting the production of goods that help protect today's military.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify and maintain records of incoming shipments and prepare items for stock or use
• Process manual or computer-generated paperwork to ensure accurate material counts and documentation
• Maintain accurate inventory records, and manage product movement, packaging, and shipment of merchandise
• Determine shipment methods based on supervisor instructions
• Load merchandise onto trailers using a hand truck or forklift
• Use stencils or address label machines to route merchandise to the correct destination
• Pack equipment for shipment in appropriate cartons, including weighing, banding, stenciling, and crate-making as needed
• Operate a hand truck, forklift, and computer terminal
• Receive, check, and sign for raw stock, parts, and other incoming items against purchase orders; enter correct amounts into the electronic system and print receivers
• Compare identifying information, and count, weigh, or measure incoming items
• Deliver incoming material to departments or stock by hand, hand truck, or forklift
• Verify incoming shipment contents against shipping documents and inspect for damage or discrepancies
• Record received items in the appropriate system or paperwork and distribute to relevant departments
• Ensure received goods are properly labeled, tagged, and stored in designated locations
• Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling items according to shipping requirements
• Perform regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and system records
• Monitor stock levels and flag low stock or replenishment needs to the appropriate personnel
• Organize and maintain warehouse space to optimize storage efficiency and accessibility
• Inspect incoming and outgoing goods for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications
• Identify and report issues related to product quality, packaging, or documentation
• Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions to maintain compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements
• Keep work areas clean and organized, including cleaning equipment and clearing debris or obstructions
• Promptly report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality issues to supervisors
• Participate in training programs and continuous improvement initiatives
• Follow company policies on attendance, punctuality, and workplace conduct
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members to support a positive work environment and meet production goals
• Follow safety procedures to prevent accidents or exposure to hazardous materials
• Perform tasks per standard procedures under the guidance of experienced teammates, with training provided as needed

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be able to work full-time
• Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle and feel, reach with hands and arms, and stoop and kneel; ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and 5–100+ pounds intermittently
• 1 year of shipping and receiving experience required
• Day shift availability required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in manufacturing or production environments
• Proficient in following work instructions
• Technical training or relevant certifications
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
• Good communication skills and ability to interact professionally with coworkers and supervisors
• Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as production schedules require
