Job Description

This position serves as a key member of the Warehouse and Shipping team in a production and warehouse environment in San Leandro, CA. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk / Material Handler is responsible for pulling and packing sales orders, issuing parts for production work orders, maintaining accurate inventory records, and performing daily cycle counts. The role supports efficient material flow, accurate order fulfillment, and compliance with safety and operational procedures.

Responsibilities

• Pull and package daily sales orders accurately and efficiently.

• Pull and issue parts for production work orders according to established procedures.

• Support efforts to ensure materials are stored properly to maximize space and comply with safety and business procedures.

• Maintain accurate bin locations, lot numbers, and serial numbers in the warehouse inventory system.

• Perform daily cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and reconcile discrepancies.

• Follow work-order and router instructions and complete each assigned task within the estimated time.

• Use forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move, load, and unload materials as needed.

• Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including checking, staging, and organizing incoming and outgoing materials.

• Use RF scan guns and related warehouse technology to pick, track, and verify inventory and orders.

• Handle heavy lifting, loading, and unloading of materials in a safe and efficient manner.

• Support warehouse packing, general labor, and production-related material handling tasks as required.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company policies.

• Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure timely order fulfillment and production support.

• Perform all other projects and duties as assigned by leadership.

Essential Skills

• Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

• Experience working in a moderate to high-volume production or warehouse environment.

• Proficiency with material handling tasks such as picking, packing, loading, unloading, and palletizing.

• Experience with shipping and receiving processes in a warehouse setting.

• Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks; forklift operating experience is strongly preferred.

• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including the ability to use basic spreadsheets and documentation tools.

• Ability to use RF scan guns or similar warehouse scanning technology for inventory control and order picking.

• Demonstrated ability to follow work-order and router instructions accurately and work within time estimates.

• Team-oriented mindset with a professional demeanor and a commitment to first-time accuracy.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a calm and collaborative work environment.

• Comfort with standing for extended periods and performing repetitive warehouse tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Forklift license preferred.

• Experience with both sit-down and stand-up forklifts.

• Background in inventory control, including cycle counting and maintaining warehouse inventory records.

• Experience with order picking, warehouse packing, and general labor in a warehouse or production setting.

• Familiarity with shipping and receiving documentation and procedures.

• Ability to handle heavy lifting and physically demanding warehouse tasks safely.

• Strong communication skills to coordinate with production, shipping, and warehouse teams.

• Demonstrated reliability and a strong sense of ownership for task completion and accuracy.

Work Environment

The role is based in a production and warehouse setting located in San Leandro, CA. The position follows a 2nd shift 4/10 schedule, Monday through Thursday, from 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM. Employees work around production and warehouse operations, regularly using forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scan guns, and other material handling equipment. The work involves heavy lifting, loading and unloading materials, and standing for extended periods. The atmosphere is professional, efficient, and collaborative, with a strong emphasis on safety procedures, proper material storage, and adherence to operational standards. Appropriate work attire suitable for a warehouse and production environment is expected, with any required safety gear provided in accordance with company policies.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Leandro, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
