Responsibilities:
- Handle, prepare, and manage all shipping details for various products under minimal supervision.
- Ship products in accordance with shipping orders and complete bills of lading.
- Wrap or arrange materials in shipping containers using appropriate packing materials.
- Interpret packing specifications and calculate container sizes from equipment drawings or measurements.
- Select correct barrier and cushioning materials and required hardware sizes.
- Fabricate wooden crates and apply specified packaging materials.
- Pack crates with steel strapping and stencil crates with required addresses.
- Check package contents for conformity with shipping orders and accurately weigh packages.
- Keep accurate records of shipments and receive proper receipts from carriers.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklift trucks, hoists, or pump trucks.
- Identify and receive all incoming materials and verify accuracy of incoming shipments.
- Note discrepancies on packing slips and forward them to the appropriate person.
- Record count into the computer system using bar coding guns and print bar code labels as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of working areas, including the Received Goods area.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience as an assembler of mechanical products.
- Experience as a licensed tow motor operator.
- 5-10 years of experience in a similar role.
