SYNOPTICS serves the photonics and optics industry across the globe.Learn more about SYNOPTICS at our website: this job, you will:Follow daily shipping schedule, verify sales order information, ensure any applicable export requirements are fulfilled, and work with the Sales team to address any issuesCommunicate with Accounting and obtain approval for customer shipments with credit or cash-in-advance termsProvide shipping and QA data to the Sales team as requestedRetrieve parts from Manufacturing to process for inventory and shipmentReview part drawings for QA requirements and shipping deliverablesCreate work orders and Special Work Instructions to perform any needed internal or external processing of finished goodsPerform daily inventory adjustments and validation within the Shop Floor Control and ERP systems, investigating discrepancies as neededSupport the inventory management of internal parts to support manufacturingParticipate in month cycle counts of finished goods inventoryProcess receipt of purchased items, matching packing slips to purchase orders and processing them in the ERP system before submitting to PurchasingUtilize the electronic Shop Floor Control, ERP, and export management systems for data entry and scanning parts through applicable shipping stepsMaintain a safe, clean and organized work area, including proper organization of finished goods inventoryPerform work in a manner complying with our ISO 9001 quality and EHS management systemsDistribution and storage of Kan-Ban expendablesBasic Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED and 3-5 years experience in a Shipping/Receiving role within a manufacturing or distribution environmentNo Clearance RequiredBasic computer skills including the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and WordFlexible schedule and the ability to work overtime as needed to meet shipment schedulesEffective communication skills with peers, other department staff, and management are essentialAbility to communicate in English, verbally and written, in a technical environmentStrong work ethic, ability to multitask, positive attitude, and willingness to learnStrong attention to detail, basic math skills, and the ability to interpret engineering printsMaintain written/electronic records and keep an organized work environment using 5S principlesAbility to lift 50 pounds and operate a forkliftPreferred Qualifications:An associate degree in a related field6-10 years in a Shipping/Receiving role with experience in domestic and international shipmentsKnowledge of processing shipments through FEDEX, UPS, and DHL systemsExperience with ERP systems and inventory managementCurious about all the exciting developments with the Northrop Grumman Space Sector? Click the link below: Level Salary Range: $41,300.00 - $68,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
