General Summary of Position
Coordinates the receiving and distribution control of incoming supplies and materials. Directs stockroom clerks in correct storage of stockroom items. Inspects receipts for accuracy of content damage and expiration date if applicable. Communicates with shippers/vendors to resolve issues related to product damage shortages and/or overages. Must have experience with Materials' receiving databases as relates to assuring accurate receiving records with comments/instructions to assist AP in prompt and accurate vendor payments. Should possess knowledge of processes related to warehousing inventory control receiving and supply distribution.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies procedures quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.Monitors timeliness of deliveries of incoming stock and non-stock orders.Compares receiving documents (packing slips) to actual receipts for accuracy of type and quantity per original purchase order.Provides timely input of receiving data into the MMIS database to assure accurate and timely charging and distribution of stock items.Takes appropriate measures to correct all discrepancies impacting the accuracy of receiving and financial records.Informs and assists Buyers in resolving shipping issues: backorders shortages and overages.Accurately tags and enters Capital equipment/furnishing's receipts into MMIS; maintains manual record of same to assist Finance with capital assets and depreciation.Maintains accurate files on the status of all open and backordered purchase orders.Maintains accurate delivery log and assures prompt processing of incoming UPS Fed-Ex and overnight packages.
