About the Role:

The Shipping/Receiving position is a critical role within the manufacturing industry, responsible for managing the efficient and accurate movement of goods into and out of the facility. This role ensures that all incoming materials are properly inspected, documented, and stored, while outgoing shipments are prepared, packaged, and dispatched according to company standards and customer requirements. The individual in this position will collaborate closely with production, inventory control, and logistics teams to maintain seamless supply chain operations. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are paramount to prevent errors and maintain compliance with regulatory standards. Ultimately, this role supports the overall operational efficiency and customer satisfaction by ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse operations.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with inventory management software.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 75 pounds regularly.
  • Valid forklift operator certification or willingness to obtain one.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and compliance.
  • Proficiency with barcode scanning and warehouse management systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and external partners.

Responsibilities:
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Prepare and package outgoing shipments, ensuring all items are correctly labeled and documentation is complete.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently to move goods within the warehouse.
  • Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities, including data entry into inventory management systems.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries, resolving any discrepancies or issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards during all shipping and receiving processes.
  • Assist with inventory counts and stock organization to support accurate inventory management.
