Shipping/Receiving Associate

Charles Ross & Son Company, a leader in the design and manufacture of industrial mixing and blending equipment, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping/Receiving Associate to join our growing team.
In this position, you will support daily shipping and receiving operations, including receiving materials, maintaining inventory, preparing shipments, and constructing crates and packing parts for shipment. The ideal candidate will take pride in accurate, quality work and maintaining an organized and safe work environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support daily shipping and receiving operations. Receive and process materials ordered on a daily basis, including accepting deliveries, labeling, and distributing packages.
- Assist in maintaining the company stockroom by cleaning, organizing, and labeling materials received for stock and customer orders.
- Schedule LTL shipments and prepare required shipping documentation.
- Receive and process incoming LTL shipments.
- Prepare shipments using shipping software and ensure all documentation is accurate and complete.
- Construct shipping crates and properly pack parts and equipment for shipment.
- Maintain accurate organization and inventory of materials and supplies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Perform all work in accordance with established quality and safety standards and procedures.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when handling shipping and receiving documentation.
- Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure.
- Ability to work with fractional and decimal measurements and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn and use shipping software.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull materials as needed.
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Forklift experience is a plus, but not required.
- Basic hand tool and carpentry skills are a plus.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial experience is a plus.
- Experience with LTL shipping and shipping documentation is preferred.
