A well-established company in the oil & gas machining services industry is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join the team. This is a full-time, on-site role working Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring materials and products are processed efficiently and accurately.

Type of Position: Temp-to-Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips.
  • Prepare, package, label, and process outgoing shipments according to company and carrier requirements.
  • Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory records.
  • Load and unload trucks using material handling equipment when required.
  • Organize, stock, and maintain warehouse storage areas for efficiency and safety.
  • Report shortages, damages, or discrepancies to management promptly.
  • Coordinate with vendors, carriers, suppliers, and internal departments regarding shipment status and delivery schedules.
  • Perform routine inventory counts and assist with inventory audits.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and scanners safely and according to company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, shipping regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Requirements:
  • Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with inventory or warehouse management systems
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to read shipping documents, packing slips, and inventory records accurately
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification)
  • Experience with ERP, warehouse management systems (WMS), or barcode scanning systems preferred
  • Knowledge of shipping carriers and freight procedures (UPS, FedEx, LTL, etc.) preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift
