Job Summary:
The Shipping & Receiving I is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations through the accurate receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of materials and finished goods. This position ensures materials are processed efficiently while maintaining inventory accuracy and following established procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Performs timely shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.
  • Collaborates and communicates with other shipping and receiving associates.
  • Ensures that all required shipping documentation is included with all outbound materials.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, and safe area.
  • Participates in the loading/unloading of trucks and deliveries.
  • Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
  • Accurately generates and fills out relevant shipping paperwork.
  • Inspects accuracy of all inbound and outbound material against relevant documentation.
  • Escalates all discrepancies found in inbound and outbound paperwork.
  • Inspects all incoming and outgoing shipments for damage.
  • Uses combination of ERP system, Microsoft Office, and shipping portals to prepare shipments.
  • Processes inbound shipments accurately, entering data into ERP system.
  • Maintains working knowledge of all tasks of the Shipping and Receiving Team.
  • Actively seeks to improve overall understanding of warehouse activities.
  • Collects and reports KPIs to Team Lead as needed.
  • Operates various material handling equipment and PLTs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2–4 years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or inventory control experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using ERP, MRP, or warehouse management systems.
  • Ability to read shipping documents, packing slips, and inventory records.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with UPS, FedEx, and freight shipments is a plus.
 
Working Environment:
  • Work is performed primarily in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
  • Frequent interaction with production, purchasing, and inventory personnel.
  • Exposure to varying warehouse conditions and material movement activities.
 
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and handle materials.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to process shipments and inventory transactions.

Pay Rate Range:  $21.00 to $23.00 per hour depending on experience
