POSITION SUMMARY

The Shipping and Receiving Specialist Lead is responsible for performing all shipping and receiving administrative and operational functions to ensure order fulfillment, customer satisfaction, and inventory accuracy. This role requires a candidate to apply attention to detail while executing daily tasks outlined by leadership and maintain a high level of organization.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversea department training

  • Ensure daily shipping targets and production support requirements are met

  • Developing process for operational excellence

  • Update Daily Tier Board and hold daily huddles

  • Serve as first point of contact for team questions, issues, and escalations

  • Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to team members

  • Lead daily activities of shipping and receiving personnel to ensure productivity, accuracy, and adherence to schedule

  • Assign and prioritize workload based on production and customer requirements

  • Create and track daily dispatch for fleet including maintaining digital records

  • Track inbound and outbound deliveries

  • Load and unload fleet and freight, handle material movement with forklift or drum dolly within facility

  • Work with 3rd party logistic companies to assign freight and efficiently manage order flow

  • Assist drivers with proper labeling and placarding of intermodal, interstate, and intercontinental hazardous and non-hazardous chemical shipments

  • Audit and clear shipments for transport

  • Organize and assemble paperwork for work packets to be used in the facility for orders in the system

  • Organize freight vendors for loading and sign-in for goods and maintaining signatures

  • Collect and maintain signatures for pickups based on directives from the Warehouse leadership team

  • Demonstrate advance proficiency with all Warehouse software and functions in D365

  • Drive process improvements

  • Effectively, timely, and respectfully communicate and interact with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and customers

  • Comply with Company policies and procedures to ensure efficient and consistent warehouse operations

  • Comply with all safety, regulatory, and company requirements

  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed

  • Regular and sustained attendance

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 Years experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility preferred

  • Experience with warehouse management software

  • Knowledge of HAZMAT products and regulations is required

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail

  • Proven problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrate professionalism at all time

  • Intermediate Proficiency with Microsoft Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Dynamics [D365]

  • Must be able to read and write load diagrams, shipping orders, and work instructions

  • Ability to collaborate effectively and efficiently with colleagues

  • Effective communication skills and time management

  • Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.

  • Specific vision requirements include color vision

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Forklift certified with at least 1 year of experience

  • Able to lift 50 pounds comfortably and safely

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

This position works in an enclosed building that is subject to variances in temperatures, frequent exposure to wet and humid conditions (non-weather); fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme heat (non-weather), extreme heat in summer, colder temperatures in winter, and loud noise levels.
