Job Description Summary
The Shipping Lead is responsible for leading daily shipping, receiving, and mail distribution operations while providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced corporate environment. This position oversees package processing, carrier coordination, inventory management, and workflow distribution to ensure timely and accurate delivery services. The Shipping Lead serves as the primary point of contact for shipping-related inquiries, supports domestic and international shipping operations, trains team members, and works closely with management and clients to maintain operational excellence, compliance, and customer satisfaction. The role requires strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and service quality.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily shipping, receiving, and mailroom operations.
- Process and track high volumes of inbound and outbound packages and shipments.
- Oversee accountable shipments through FedEx, UPS, DHL, USPS, and other carriers.
- Coordinate workload, prioritize tasks, and provide directions to team members.
- Maintain shipping supplies, inventory levels, and postage equipment.
- Respond to customer requests, service tickets, shipping inquiries, and email communications.
- Train and support employees on operational procedures, customer service expectations, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate bulk mailings, special projects, and off-site shipping requests.
- Monitor workflow to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with service-level expectations.
- Communicate effectively with customers, management, and clients regarding shipping status, deadlines, and issue resolution.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional shipping operation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two or more years of experience in shipping, logistics, mail services, or office operations preferred.
- Knowledge of domestic and international shipping processes and postal regulations.
- Experience with shipping software, carrier platforms, and postage systems.
- Proven leadership and team coordination skills.
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Ability to lift 50–75 pounds regularly and stand for extended periods.

Job Relationships
Maintains frequent interaction with internal and external customers, vendors, clients, and management. Serves as a primary contact for shipping and logistics operations, providing professional, timely, and effective support while fostering positive customer relationships.

The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
The compensation for the position is: $26.35 - $31.00
