Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Specialist
Location: Columbia, MD (Fully Onsite)
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $21-$23/hour (based on experience)
Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our team in Columbia, MD. This fully onsite, contract-to-hire position plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials and products in and out of our facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips
Accurately document and label incoming and outgoing materials
Prepare and package items for shipment, ensuring compliance with shipping standards
Maintain inventory records and perform regular cycle counts
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely delivery and receipt of goods
Maintain a clean and organized shipping/receiving area
Follow all safety protocols and company procedures
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
1-2 years of experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse operations
Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is highly preferred
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
