Position at JBS USA
Shipping & Receiving Department Associate
Wage Range: $24.45
Status: Full-Time Shift: 1st Differential:N/A
PRINCIPAL ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES Support the Shipping/Receiving Department in all aspects of handling incoming and outgoing shipments for JBS/Sunnyvalley Smoked Meats.
Ability to operate forklift, hand truck, electric pallet jack, pallet stacker, pallet wrapper, etc. in the process of loading, unloading, and preparing product for shipment. Employee must be certified at Sunnyvalley prior to using equipment.
Have knowledge and understanding of all bacon, ham, pork, or turkey parts produced and shipped including product codes, specifications, palletization patterns, etc.
Ensure verification of items received against open purchase orders. Check all product for damage, quality, quantity, temperature, and correctness.
Follow all quality control procedures and verify that employees are following procedures as well. (HACCP, GMP’s, CCP’s, SQF, Safety, etc.)
Work in conjunction with Department Supervisor, Lead and Associates to ensure that ALL orders scheduled for shipment are pulled correctly, palletized, scanned, wrapped properly and paperwork is turned into office personnel for processing. Any shorted orders must be communicated with Operations Manager, Assistant Operations Manager or Director of Operations before turning in paperwork to office.
Assist in verifying for completeness and accuracy all incoming and outgoing shipments.
Perform assigned tasks accurately, efficiently, and safely.
Routinely inspect shipping and receiving coolers and freezer to ensure proper function of cooling systems. Notify Maintenance Department immediately of any changes and/or issues observed (condensation, dripping, etc.).
Verify working condition of equipment in the department. Notify Maintenance Department immediately if any equipment is broken, unsafe and/or working improperly.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Prior experience in shipping and receiving in a production environment required
Computer experience with Microsoft Office a plus
Must be able to learn Aspen/Canopy computer software
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Detail oriented, quality minded, able to perform at a high level in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable performing repetitive tasks.
Ability to work extended hours and weekends when required based on demand.
Safety training for all equipment in the department.
Forklift and Electric Pallet Jack Certification required
Reports to Shipping/Receiving Supervisor
