Our esteemed manufacturing organization is seeking a seasoned, dynamic, and energetic individual to join our team as a Permanent Shipping Supervisor. This role is pivotal to our operations and is responsible for the overall efficiency and effectiveness of all shipping activities. The successful candidate will be directly responsible for overseeing the shipping department, coordinating shipping activities, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products to our customers. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our operational success, and is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding environment.

Responsibilities:

As a Shipping Supervisor, your key responsibilities will include:

1. Overseeing and coordinating the daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring all products are shipped and delivered in a timely and efficient manner.

2. Supervising and managing shipping personnel, fostering a team-oriented environment that encourages growth, development, and high performance.

3. Ensuring compliance with all shipping procedures and regulations, including safety standards and protocols.

4. Collaborating with other departments, such as production and sales, to optimize shipping and delivery schedules.

5. Analyzing shipping data to identify efficiencies and areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to optimize shipping processes.

6. Managing relationships with logistics service providers, negotiating contracts and rates to ensure cost-effectiveness.

7. Handling customer inquiries and complaints related to shipping, providing excellent customer service and resolving issues promptly and professionally.

8. Maintaining accurate records of all shipping activities, including tracking information, shipping costs, and delivery timelines.

9. Conducting regular performance reviews, providing feedback and coaching to improve team performance and efficiency.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Shipping Supervisor role should have:

1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a shipping or logistics role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.

2. In-depth knowledge of shipping procedures and regulations, including international shipping.

3. Proven experience in managing and leading a team, with strong leadership and motivational skills.

4. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

5. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with team members, customers, and external partners.

7. Proficiency in using shipping software and other related computer applications.

8. A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
