Shop Attendant Maintenance Worker - Department: Logistics Services
- Schedule: Monday - Friday 7: 30am - 4:30 pm (Must be flexible)
- Reporting Location: San Antonio, TX 78227
- Assignment Duration: Temporary - Subject to change with possible extension
- Pay: $18 / hour (Non-negotiable)
Job Summary Under immediate supervision, is responsible for performing manual labor with a wide variety of mechanic and maintenance work. Required to hand parts, tools, and oils, to mechanics. Primary duty will be to keep the shop floor clean by cleaning oil spills, and trash, and disposing of scrap metal. Essential Job Functions - Cleans, repairs, and replaces equipment at City facilities.
- Participates in the construction, maintenance, and repairs of shop.
- Inspects equipment and report any equipment in need of maintenance or repair.
- Operates small equipment.
- lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Knowledge of manual labor tasks.
- Knowledge of hazards and safety measures as they apply to the type of work being performed
- Knowledge of methods, equipment, and materials as they relate to the type of work being performed.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Ability to learn basic laundering techniques, depending on the area of assignment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Ability to perform all physical requirements of the job, with or without accommodations.
- Working conditions are inside and outside with routine repeated exposure to temperature variations, damp/wet surfaces, hazardous materials, and dirty environments.
