We’re hiring a Maintenance Assistant to join an established Albany manufacturer directly as a company employee. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who already understands a production or shop environment and wants to turn that experience into a long-term career in industrial maintenance.

You’ll work alongside experienced maintenance professionals, gain hands-on experience with industrial equipment, and develop your skills with a clear opportunity to grow into a Maintenance Technician role.
What You’ll Do

• Work alongside experienced maintenance technicians while expanding your skills.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on production equipment and facilities.
• Assist with maintenance on industrial equipment, forging presses, and furnaces.
• Troubleshoot basic mechanical issues and help keep equipment running.
• Gain experience with basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and facility maintenance.
• Complete maintenance documentation and required paperwork.
• Assist with material handling, scrap recovery, and other maintenance projects.
• Take on additional maintenance responsibilities as your skills grow.

What You’ll Have

• Previous experience working in a mill, manufacturing facility, production environment, or shop is required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in industrial maintenance.
• Familiarity with industrial equipment, shop tools, and working safely around machinery.
• Desire to learn and train into a Maintenance Technician role.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and technical instructions.
• Valid driver's license.
• Forklift experience is a plus.
• Flexibility to occasionally work a swing shift when needed.
