Smith Industries is seeking a dependable Shop & Facility Helper to assist with general housekeeping, cleaning, and upkeep of our shop and facility. This is a hands-on position responsible for helping maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment for our employees.
Responsibilities
- Perform general housekeeping and cleanup throughout the shop and facility.
- Empty trash cans and dispose of trash and debris in designated areas.
- Clean and maintain shop restrooms.
- Assist with cleaning office restrooms and common areas as needed.
- Sweep and clean shop floors, walkways, entrances, and other work areas.
- Pick up and properly dispose of debris and other materials.
- Help keep common areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Assist with general facility and shop-support tasks as needed.
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report spills, unsafe conditions, or facility concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be dependable and maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Willing and able to perform cleaning, housekeeping, and general labor duties.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks independently.
- Comfortable working in an active manufacturing/shop environment.
- Must be willing to assist in different areas of the facility as needed.
Physical Requirements
This is a physically active position that requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting. The employee must be able to safely perform general housekeeping and facility-support duties in a manufacturing environment.
