Picture this: it’s 5:00 PM in Rosemount, MN. You scan the day’s repair tickets, line up parts, assign jobs to the team, and roll up your sleeves to tackle a tricky diesel diagnosis. You’re not just keeping the shop moving—you’re setting the standard for quality, safety, and speed. That’s the impact you’ll make as our Shop Foreman.
What You’ll Do (Day-to-Day)
Direct the evening shop workflow—triage, prioritize, and dispatch repair orders.
Perform hands-on diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on automotive and diesel systems.
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using scan tools and computer-based diagnostics.
Assign tasks, oversee progress, and verify repair quality through testing and inspections.
Guide technicians through complex repairs; mentor for speed, accuracy, and safety.
Evaluate vehicles and recommend immediate and future maintenance needs.
Source, order, and coordinate parts; communicate with vendors on availability and inventory.
Keep customers and ownership informed on repair status, recommendations, and timelines.
Ensure critical components are safe and compliant; maintain an organized, hazard-free shop.
Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition; perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
7+ years of hands-on automotive and/or diesel repair experience (required).
Proven ability with medium-duty trucks, gas vehicles, diesel vehicles, fleet vehicles, and/or commercial equipment.
Prior Lead Mechanic, Shop Foreman, or supervisory experience (preferred).
Advanced mechanical and electrical diagnostic capabilities.
Strength in prioritizing work orders, assigning jobs, and keeping throughput high.
Leadership that builds confidence—coaching, supporting, and elevating others.
Reliable, organized, and comfortable working independently.
Clear communicator with employees, customers, vendors, and ownership.
