Shop Foreman Sign Manufacturing

Location: Landover, MD
Salary: $90,000 $120,000 Base + Bonus + Benefits

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Shop Foreman to lead daily operations for a fast-paced sign manufacturing facility in Landover, MD. This role will oversee a 10+ person production team and be responsible for driving productivity, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring on-time delivery across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily operations
• Coordinate workflow, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet production deadlines
• Supervise fabrication, assembly, and finishing of signage products
• Ensure quality control standards are met across all projects
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient shop environment
• Train, mentor, and develop shop personnel
• Collaborate with project managers, designers, and installation teams
• Review shop drawings, work orders, and production schedules
• Troubleshoot production challenges and resolve workflow bottlenecks
• Ensure proper maintenance and operation of shop equipment
• Manage material usage and inventory coordination

Qualifications

Required:

• 5+ years of manufacturing facility experience
• 3+ years managing a team/crew
• Skilled trade experience required(sign fabrication, metal fabrication, carpentry, electrical, or related trade)
• Experience managing production teams
• Strong understanding of shop operations and workflow management
• Ability to read drawings, work orders, and specifications
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Hands-on leadership style

Preferred:

• Sign manufacturing experience strongly preferred
• Experience with:
  • Metal fabrication
  • Welding
  • Electrical components
  • Vinyl application
  • CNC routers or fabrication equipment
• Lean manufacturing or process improvement experience
• OSHA / safety knowledge
