Frazer, a leading builder of emergency medical vehicles, is currently seeking a Shop Helper to join our team. The Shop Helper - Fabrication at Frazer reports to the Fabrication & Weld Supervisor, and is responsible for accurately, quickly, and effectively selecting, vetting, designing, testing, and implementing new features or functionality to enhance the capabilities, reliability, or the ease of use of systems on mobile healthcare vehicles. This position is expected to actively live out Frazer Core Values while working with Frazer employees, vendors, and customers to help achieve team, department, and corporate goals. Responsible for learning and reinforcing safe and proper work procedures while actively following Frazer Safety programs and other policies outlined in the Employee Handbook.

What Does a Week in the Life of the Shop Helper - Fabrication Look Like?

• Examines the surface of metal to detect defects such as dents, scratches, burrs or breaks in metal.
• Prepares the surface of the parts and edges to specified finish.
• Polishes metal surface.
• Remove sharp edges on a variety of parts.
• Scribe parts and then blend to the scribe lines.
• Polish critical surfaces on parts by hand, machine, and small hand tools.
• Inspects your own work.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Provide feedback to CNC machinists in regard to part quality .
• Use all measuring and gauging instruments as required.
• Changes tools on powered equipment.

Required Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Prior use of air tools and measuring instruments is preferred.
• Must be able to work as part of a team and independently.
• Must be able to pass a post-offer drug screen.

Oh, and $alary

Of course, we didn't forget salary… Frazer offers competitive pay and this role will start with a salary between $18.00-$22.00 per hour depending on education, certifications, and experience.
