Job Description

Do you take pride in doing a job right the first time, every single time?

Can you stay calm and focused even when the production line is moving fast?

Are you the type who double-checks your own work before handing it off?

Do you want to build real, hands-on skills in metal finishing, sealing, and installation work?

Are you looking for a shop floor where consistency and craftsmanship actually matter?

If this sounds like you, then we need to talk...

Frazer builds the emergency medical vehicles and mobile healthcare units that communities depend on when it matters most, and every part that leaves our shop has to be right. We're looking for a Shop Helper to join our Fabrication team and support production wherever the work is needed, from smoothing metal surfaces to sealing joints to installing flooring and graphics on the box module. This is a hands-on, entry-level role for someone who wants to learn real manufacturing skills and take pride in doing careful work.

What Does a Week in the Life of the Shop Helper Look Like?

Walks the floor each morning to check in with the Production Supervisor on the day's priorities

Deburrs and sands metal parts to meet finish specifications

Applies chemical sealant to joints and checks coverage before parts move forward

Measures and cuts vinyl flooring for installation into box modules

Installs conspicuity graphics and labels according to build specifications

Inspects own completed work using gauges and measuring instruments

Shifts to a different work center midday to cover a production gap

Flags a part quality issue to the CNC machinist before it moves further down the line

Required Education and Experience:

Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team

Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring instruments

Able to follow detailed work instructions and specifications accurately

Willingness to learn and rotate across different production tasks as needed

Preferred Education and Experience:

Prior experience with air tools and measuring instruments

A track record of holding yourself accountable and following procedures

Habit of double-checking your own work before calling it done

Skills (to Pay the Bills)

Here's a list of a few competencies that the Shop Helper at Frazer should have…

You're steady with your hands and don't rush through the details.

You hold yourself to a standard even when no one's double-checking your work.

You're comfortable switching tasks and work centers without losing focus.

You know how to use hand and power tools safely and correctly.

You'd rather fix a problem than pretend it didn't happen.

You take pride in a clean, precise finish on every part you touch.

Why Frazer?

Frazer is a fast-paced, no-nonsense place to build a career, where honesty, accountability, and getting the work done right matter more than titles or polish. We hold ourselves to a high standard because the vehicles we build end up on the front lines of emergency care, and every employee on the floor plays a part in that responsibility.
