Shop Laborer/Parts Runner

Team Elmer's seeks to fill an opening for a Shop Laborer/Parts Runner for the Mechanic Shop in Hillman, MI. This position will pick up/drop off parts, clean the shop, organize parts, stock oils/consumables, and help mechanics when needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Drive parts to and from the store or needed locations
• Stock oils and other consumables
• Clean the shop area and organize the yard
• Assist mechanics if needed and organize the parts room
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Valid Driver's license with a chauffer's license or the ability to obtain a Chauffer's license within the first 30 days of hire
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Clean driving record for the past 3 years
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
• Experience in a mechanic shop, welding or paint shop environment a plus
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Willingness to work overtime if asked or needed
• Ability to work long hours and perform repetitive movements
• Good work ethic, punctuality, and alertness
• Ability to repetitively lift 50 or more pounds at a time
• Mechanical -- Knowledge of equipment, machines, and tools including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
