Now Hiring: Shop Operator/Material Handler
Location: Houston, TX 77051
Schedule: 8:00am-5:00pm
Pay: $17-$18/hour
The Houston branch of Openwork has partnered with a growing Pipe, Valve & Flange company in Houston to add a Material Handler to their team!
What You'll Be Doing:
- Assist with upkeep of shop machines/fork lifts; consisting of adding coolant and oil.
- Load and unload finished pieces from shop machines.
- Preparing finished materials for shipment.
- Keeping shop floor clean at all times.
- Assisting shipping department.
- Observe necessary safety precautions.
- Cross-train on alternate assignments and perform duties in other work areas as needed.
- Any other duties as requested by respective supervisor and/or manager.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience operating a forklift.
- Stable work history, preferably in a warehouse/distribution environment.
- Can work independently with minimal supervision.
- Committed to working safely at all times including a commitment to the policies and procedures of the operation.
- Positive attitude and a good team member.
PPE Required:
- Hardhat; Type 1 Class E, Orange (high visibility)
- Safety Glasses – ANSI z87+, Clear
- Safety Vest – Type R, Class 2, None FR, Yellow/Green, or Orange
- Cut resistant gloves LVL 4+
- Steel Toed Boots (at least 5” ankle coverage)
