JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible skilled and technical supervisory mechanical work in charge of the maintenance and repair of city owned equipment including automobiles, trucks, tractors, grading machines and small engine equipment. Directs and coordinates operational activities of the equipment maintenance department by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
(A) Graduation from high school or GED equivalent;
(B) Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school;
(C) Or six months to one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Possession of valid State of Georgia Class A or B driver's license, or ability to obtain within one (1) year.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Motorized vehicles for mechanical testing purposes, power and hand tools and equipment for vehicle and mechanical system work; mechanic's tools including jacks, hydraulic lifts, air tools, and other tools required for minor repairs and routine maintenance of motorized vehicles; electronic vehicle diagnostic equipment; personal computer, calculator, phone, mobile or portable radio.
