Shop Supervisor

We are currently looking for experienced leaders with a strong background in fabrication and team management to join a local custom transformer manufacturer in Macedonia, Ohio. This is a great opportunity for someone ready to lead a small team in a hands-on, manufacturing environment.

This role involves supervising a production team, ensuring safety and quality standards are met while hitting production goals. You’ll be involved directly on the shop floor, operating equipment, reading blueprints, and supporting the growth of the shop.

Hours
1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Up to 60 hours per week
Monday through Saturday (possible)

Pay
$30.00 per hour, based on experience

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on supervision and leadership on the shop floor
  • Read and interpret blueprints to guide fabrication work
  • Remain hands-on in fabrication, welding, and assembly
  • Operate equipment such as shears, drill presses, cut-off saws, and various hand tools
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by enforcing safety procedures
  • Oversee training, discipline, and evaluation of shop employees
  • Build and support a positive, motivated team environment
  • Support owner’s vision for shop growth and development

Minimum Requirements
  • 2+ years of fabrication and supervisory experience
  • High school diploma or GED (technical training or degree preferred)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge and ability to operate equipment like shears, drill presses, and saws
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and performing shop math
  • Mig welding experience preferred
  • Dependable, punctual, and receptive to instruction
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the company
  • Ability to work a 50-60 hour work week, including possible Saturdays

Nice to Have Skills
  • MIG welding experience
  • Previous supervisory experience in manufacturing

Preferred Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED, technical training preferred

Other Requirements
  • On-site work environment
