Mechanical Shop Supervisor/QC Inspector

Introduction: We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Mechanical Shop Supervisor with experience in QC Inspection and deployment of Quality Principals, to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all Work Orders are complete and meet our standards for quality products. This role is crucial in maintaining customer satisfaction and upholding the reputation of our organization.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work with Planning Department to ensure the timely and accurate processing of Work Orders.
• Execute and Process through the ERP system, all work orders to ensure inventory accuracy and timely completion of Work Orders.
• Work with Sales Department to ensure priority work orders are completed when needed.
• Upon completion of the Work Orders, conduct visual inspections of products to identify any defects or discrepancies before they are processed for shipping.
• Communicate identified issues promptly to supervisors and collaborate on corrective actions to resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain detailed records of quality inspections, noting deviations or defects found to ensure traceability and quality control.
• Collaborate with production teams to provide feedback on product quality and suggest improvements in processes where necessary.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols during inspections and maintain a clean working environment, including PPE.
• Plan and schedule staffing, for Work Orders, and QC special projects.
• Supervise a staff of 2 people, and provide a safe and positive environment.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required; additional education in quality management or related fields preferred.
• Previous experience as a quality control inspector or in a similar role is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills for identifying defects and discrepancies.
• Proficient in using measurement tools and equipment relevant to the inspection process.
• Good communication skills for documenting findings and reporting issues effectively.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Forklift experience a plus.
• Excel, Word, PowerPoint proficient.

Compensation: $21-$24/hour, commensurate with education and experience

Work Hours and Benefits: Mon - Fri, 7:00 am-4:30 pm, schedule subject to change based upon business needs. This position typically requires full-time hours with potential overtime during peak periods.
